How to optimize warehouse processes?
Optimization of employee warehouse with ASD Systems
A large number of companies realize that warehouse processes must be optimized. Receipt and storage of goods as well as order picking and issuing must be strategically organized to eliminate, for example, mistakes or shortages in stock, which threaten the collapse of the entire supply chain, delays and large financial losses. Investing in the right tools allows you to avoid all these problems, i.e. improve the efficiency of logistics processes.
However, such process optimization activities usually start and end in only one place – in the main warehouse of products or articles. Internal warehouses, those for the needs of employees – e.g. with tools, health and safety products or auxiliary materials, are marginalized, but they also need optimization – otherwise they become the cause of numerous problems.
Problem – missing products, too quickly used tools, disappearing money!
Traditional distribution of products for employees is usually carried out by two models of warehouse logistics:
- Logistics, warehouse and supply employees are responsible for the maintenance and operation of the warehouse, as well as the distribution of products,
- the warehouse with products for employees is “open”, which means that employees themselves collect the equipment, materials or articles they need.
In both cases, at least a few problems arise!
- Out of stock. If a warehouse is not regularly inventoried and distribution records are not kept, errors will arise sooner or later. Part of the work cannot be done without appropriate materials, tools or protective measures, which leads to downtime at work.
- Mistakes in the records. Both auxiliary materials, as well as equipment, health and safety articles and protective measures generate considerable expenses, which, however, can be treated as costs of obtaining income. The condition is precise records that show their distribution. In the traditional “manual” form, colossal mistakes are the order of the day – man is not infallible.
- Financial losses. Although employees are responsible for the equipment and other necessary products entrusted to them, in practice this responsibility is highly debatable. Disappearing equipment, misappropriated materials, and misused products and articles are common problems. This causes not only numerous mistakes and often tragic consequences, but also exposes the company to losses.
- Unconscious ordering policy. Without precise distribution records and an attempt to regulate product downloads, large orders are usually carried out, which include a set of products needed in the warehouse. The warehouse space for employees is therefore large, which causes problems with its operation, and besides – it is completely unnecessary!

A company employee receives a contactless card (or other identifying solution). He puts it to the reader, chooses the necessary product and picks it up. It can also immediately indicate the cost center to which the system is to assign its download.
ASD Systems machines also enable the direct return of accidentally picked articles, as well as assigning labels describing their condition to those already used and returned to the machine.

Even if the company has several such machines (e.g. at the entrances to halls or sectors), only one person is needed for management .
The manager has access to the IDS application (you need a device with internet), which offers a lot of possibilities (see below). The refilling of the machines is quick and easy – for example, thanks to scanning the drum, the employee knows exactly where to place the product.
